Non-profits are the fabric of our community. They are the ones showing up for our families, our neighbors, and the causes that hold our communities together. And they often are performing miracles with fewer resources than the work deserves.
That's why giving back isn't a side project at TEAMES & CO. It is built into how we operate. Our team sits on boards, volunteers, and gives back to our community in every way we can. But we also wanted a way for our work to give back. With thier expertise in their mission our goal is to help them build capacity.
Why We Built This Program
As board members and consultants ourselves, we've seen the same pattern again and again: strategic planning condensed into a single one- or two-day off-site. It's not for lack of care. Resources are constrained, time is limited, and board members are fitting this in around full-time jobs elsewhere.
With that kind of runway, real preparation is nearly impossible. Without an aligned starting point, everyone walks into the room with different data, different priorities, and different perspectives. And when the room only has one day, decisions get made on incomplete information and gut feel, not because anyone did something wrong, but because the process never gave them a real chance to do otherwise.
Before we plan anything, we gather perspectives from the people who are connected to your organization: clients, partners, board members, team members, and leadership. That 360-degree view grounds every participant in the same current-state reality before a single strategic decision gets made.
We also map your client journey and place your organization inside its broader ecosystem, so when it is time to decide what to take on, you are weighing it against the full picture: does this work need to sit with us, is there a partner who could reduce the overlap, or is it a gap only we can fill.
That is the difference between a plan that sounds good on paper and one your organization was meant to execute. And organizations can get there if they have the support of a team who can help them gather and analyze the data. A team to handle the process and the details, so they can focus their energy on the strategic decisions.
